When I arrived this morning just after 10.15am I was amazed at how busy the market was, I don't think I've ever seen it this busy. There were queues at the usual places and it was buzzing!
I started my journey off at Brawsome Bagles who of course are a staple at the market. The lovely Boris was holding the fort today and just about kept up with demand.
Next stop was the lovely Juno General Store who, after taking a wee break in January, was back with a vengeance with their amazing marmalade and preserves. I opted for the award-winning Blood orange and pink peppercorn marmalade today as I was running low.
Quick look around and I managed to see the lovely Jules over at Oui Knob. Did you know that he’s now delivering his gorgeous butter in a paper wrap rather than a plastic tub? Always thinking of the environment.
Uber bars brought their A game today as they had their awesome coconut bar to the market today. These keep me going throughout the week when the sugar cravings kick in.
Rice n’ spicy as well as the cheese stop were also visited, and the beer battered chilli and onion bhajis secured for some snacking tonight.
A skip and a hop over to Paws aff to secure Merlyn’s favourite liver snacks. One of the few treats she still likes at her old age.
Well of course next the sweet stuff had to be secured to accompany my various cups of tea this week. First stop was Beardy Bakewell who disappointingly did not dance again. He did however deliver some awesome delicious brownies.
The queue at Cadzow’s Bake House was insane and to my shame I have to admit that I skipped it today. But trust me, next month I will be there bright and early.
Next on the list was the elusive Cruice Juice, which I have been trying to get a hold off for a wee while now…and they did not disappoint. I cannot wait for summer now and enjoying this drink over ice... possibly with some vodka.
And before I went and secured our brunch, I stopped by Angels Dare to restock and chat. When I met them at their first Uddingston market. We both had just started out in our businesses and were talking about our experiences back then. And now…I have to admit, unless you have been living in social media blackout, you couldn’t have missed them. They are everywhere! And well deserved. If you haven’t tried a Maverick Martini topped up with some prosecco….you truly are missing out. And I also got some inside scoop…..watch this space!!!
And last, but by no means least was the Pizzapie guy and his amazing…well…pizza. Hubby usually doesn’t eat any other pizza than from a certain chain, but he does enjoy this. Winning at my brunch game 😊.
